The Memorial was cleaned and repaired in 2002 . It has weathered many storms in the last 20 years, but sadly storm Eunice, in February 2022, cast the pillar and cross to the ground.

War Memorial Book
It is hoped that the contents of this book will remind successive generations of the impact of two world wars on the village of Merrow, the dreadful circumstances in which so many Merrow men lost their lives and the scale of the sacrifice made on behalf of future generations.

The Merrow village war memorial was unveiled by General Lord Rawlinson on the Friday evening of 20th July, 1920.
